A glass of red wine, the shimmering of Buenos Aires at noon and a crazy idea: a tango CD for a string quartet. There has never been anything like it. The Galatea Quartet wanted to revive the old, wonderfully nostalgic tangos from the 1920s and 1930s, the tangos that have determined the history of the genre.
The result is stunning miniatures in brilliant original arrangements. Or freely after Georg Kreisler: "Two old aunts dance tango, in the middle of the night". And yet everything shines like new.
